I am a professional fashion and street photographer based in New York City. My journey in photography began in high school, where I mastered the art of processing, developing, and printing 35mm black and white film. I further honed my skills by obtaining a BFA in Art and Design with a concentration in Photography and Video from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. During my college years, I developed a keen interest in fashion photography and transitioned to shooting in colored film. Even when working with digital media, I strive to maintain the distinct aesthetic of colored analog photography.
My approach to fashion photography is to capture not just the outfits, but the essence of the person wearing them. Each portrait was carefully composed to highlight the model's individuality and showcase their connection to the clothing. I wanted to convey a sense of intimacy and authenticity in these images, so I often shot in natural light. In addition to the portraits, I included some up close shots of the outfits to showcase the intricate details and textures of the fabrics. These images serve to highlight the craftsmanship and design of the clothing and provide a different perspective than the full-body portraits. I also included product shots. These images provide a more editorial feel to the portfolio and showcase the versatility of the clothing. Overall, my goal with this portfolio was to showcase the beauty and elegance of fashion while also highlighting the uniqueness of each model and the craftsmanship of the clothing.
